Last night, Rajon Rondo stepped up BIG to close out the Second Round of the Playoffs. With Pierce fouled out and the Celtics struggling to score, Rondo went on a personal 9-0 run to put the game and series away for the Celtics.

Rajon Rondo comes up BIG for the Celtics, Game 7 vs 76ers.

… And here come the Conference Finals..

And as we’ve done through every round, Scamz and I have our predictions (well Scamz has decent predictions, my predictions have been as good as Montreal weather predictions)

But first, here’s an update on the competition!

Second Round Scores (Points are Doubled)

It’s bad.. I know, Scamz is running away with this one.

NBA Returns Christmas Day

The NBA Owners and Players have reached a tentative agreement on a 10 year Collective Bargaining Agreement! Season is set to begin December 25th! Joy to the (basketball) World

After talks broke down mid-November, the Players Association had filed for decertification, and 2 anti-trust law suits against the NBA and its owners. Things were just not looking so bright for an NBA 2011-12 Season.

Today, there is new hope! After secretly meeting earlier this week to try to save the season, NBA players and owners met Friday for 15 hours and have come out the other side with a deal (tentative).

What makes this deal tentative?

  • Drug testing, Draft age and such ‘B-list’ issues have not been agreed on, but sides agree, these issues will not block a deal
  • Players Union must be Reformed
  • Owners and players must vote on the final revision of the CBA

What about the Deal?

  • BRI (Basketball Related Income) is slightly higher than 50/50 in favor of the players, (last CBA players had 57% of BRI earnings)
  • New strongly enforced luxury taxations will prevent big market teams from stockpiling talent. (unknown limits)
  • Each team has a 4-year Mid-Level Exception (yearly)
  • Sign and Trade is still available (for only 3 years??)

Training camp will be set for December 9th, should this deal pass.

Finally, the deal is a 10 year deal with a 6-year opt out clause. –> So we’ll probably do this again in 6 years.. BUT…

…after all, all that really matters, is that the NBA is BACK!

NBA Players Reject Owners’ Offer, To File Lawsuit

The morning of November 14th, 2011 started out with a lot of hope for NBA fans across the world.

News/rumors surfaced that the Players would probably accept the Owners’ offer, bringing us all hope and a sense of excitement and anticipation…

… and then it was all crushed.

News was released that the Players have officially rejected the leagues’ offer topped with a Union decertification and an anti-trust lawsuit against the league and its owners.

What does this all mean?

  • Cancellation of the NBA season is now more likely than ever
  • Player contracts may be voided
  • Overall disappointment to all NBA fans.
These are dark days, indeed..

Dark days ahead for NBA

Carter, McGrady and Oakley Reunite

Its Friday, November 4th.. you know what that means? That means we should be watching Blake Griffin dunking on a couple of Trail Blazers, Spurs and Mavs in an old timer classic and a good ol’ Nash vs Bryant showdown…

… instead we’re chilling around, waiting on tomorrows meeting, the first meeting between the player union and NBA after the last possible deal fell apart. And listening to news on a “very real” chance that players are seeking that the union be decertified??

All great news.. as usual..

So today, we’re gonna talk Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady and Charles Oakley, interviewed by TSN’s “Off the Record” Show about their days in Toronto. And the “what if..” factor

Check it out!
